Hello, my name is Amanda! I am so glad you stopped by. Here’s a little info for you to decide if we could be a good fit!
My focus as a therapist has always been to build connection by creating a safe and welcoming space for clients to feel comfortable opening up and the freedom to be themselves. I function with the mentality that everyone is doing the best they can with what they have and it’s my job to help figure out what tools they need to reach their goals. I believe it’s important to challenge my clients by helping them recognize the destructive self-talk and behaviors that are negatively impacting their self esteem. During sessions, we can talk, play games, create art, focus on relaxation, build coping skills, or whatever you need at the time! I’m also trained in Trauma Focused CBT which is utilized for clients ages 7-18.
I received my MSW from University of Michigan School of Social Work. I have over 10 years of experience working with children, teens, and families to resolve conflict, address school issues, and improve behavioral concerns. I also love working with parents/caregivers to learn new ways to help their child who is struggling behaviorally or otherwise.
I can help all ages by identifying and treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, PTSD, and adjustment difficulties. Also, after personally experiencing the challenges associated with infertility and pregnancy loss, I’m passionate about supporting others with these life events, as I know first hand how isolating, devastating, and frustrating it can be.
I am an LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. Being affirmative means I embrace a positive view of all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and support them by treating them with the respect dignity, and affirmation they deserve.
I’m available for Telehealth appointments. Hope to talk with you soon!
